Tree Surgery Services in Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham, Cannock and Walsall
Arboriculture is the study of amenity trees in urban areas. As an Arborist it may become necessary to carry out tree pruning operations to help maintain a tree in safe condition, to remove dead wood and branches, to promote growth, to regulate the size and shape of a trees canopy or even the flowers and fruit. The improper pruning of trees can lead to them becoming disfigured, diseased and potentially dangerous.
It is important for our clients to understand the basic terms commonly used to describe tree work operations so they can ask for what they want or have a better understanding of what a tree surgeon (Arboriculturist) is recommending to them. For example a ‘Crown thin of 30%’ will not change the height or width of a trees canopy nor will a ‘Crown lift to 4 Metres’.
Listed below are the three main tree work operations used and a brief description of what is entailed.
